THE BEST YUCATECAN (YUCATAN) FOOD, RESTAURANTS, STREET FOOD, AND PLACES TO EAT IN MEXICO CITY (CDMX)
#1, Conchinita La Yoyis (location HERE)
THE BEST conchinita pibil I’ve had in Mexico City (CDMX) & one of the best I’ve had anywhere, and the heat from his 2 habanero #CuloEnFuego salsas turned my forehead into a rainforest & caused a monsoon in my loins. SO FUCKING DELICIOUS!!!
#2, El Habanerito (location HERE)
I am addicted to the damn kibe at El Habanerito in Roma Norte, some of the best Yucatecan (Yucatan) style food in Mexico City and their #salsas are just simply incredible.
#3, (no name?) Street Food Spot (location HERE)
I wonder if (besides tacos de canasta) I have had a better 15 peso taco in Mexico City (CDMX) than this little family-operated conchinita spot just on the other side of Insurgentes from Buenavista (9/10 flavor, 10+/10 value). One of the best street food places for Yucatecan (Yucatan) food in Mexico City (CDMX).
THE BEST OAXACAN (OAXACA) FOOD, RESTAURANTS, STREET FOOD, AND PLACES TO EAT IN MEXICO CITY (CDMX)
#1, La Zarza (location HERE)
Totally authentic and off the beaten path, La Zarza is one of the best restaurants for authentic Oaxacan (Oaxaca) food in Mexico City (CDMX). Both their tlayudas and their mole negro are amazing!!
#2, Los Machetes de Amparito (location HERE)
In the USA, we call large hot dogs “jumbo hot dogs”. In Mexico, we call large quesadillas "machetes". One of these names is creative and funky and cool, while the other is about as imaginative as a cover band playing the theme song to a sequel. Machetes are a classic staple of Oaxacan food, and this place is the best in Mexico City (CDMX).
#3, La Clementina (location HERE)
One of the best places to eat Oaxacan (Oaxaca) food in Mexico City (CDMX). I keep meaning to go back to try more things, because ALL of the smells coming from that kitchen are enchanting!!
